Gary Schaffel, President of Schaffel Consulting Group and Schaffel Development Company, Inc. has acquired a unique combination of executive and hands-on experience during his 46 years in the construction and development industry. He received a Bachelor’s Degree (1967) and Master’s Degree (1969) in Building Construction from the University of Florida, the first college to offer professional degrees in this discipline. In 1972, he was hired as Purchasing Director for Goldrich and Kest, the leading builder and developer of single and multi-family housing in Southern California at the time. During the ensuing five years he was promoted to Construction Manager, where he was responsible for the construction of over 10,000 housing units, as well as numerous board and care and commercial facilities. In 1977, Mr. Schaffel formed Schaffel Development Co., Inc.
Since its inception, Schaffel Development Company, Inc., has been responsible for the formation of general partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies that have successfully developed hundreds of condominium units, apartment units, and custom single-family residences throughout the Southern California area. Schaffel Development Company, Inc., and/or Gary Schaffel has acted in the capacity of general partner or limited liability company manager for all of these projects, which represents a value in excess of two hundred million dollars.
Schaffel Development Company, Inc., a licensed California General Contractor has successfully completed construction on over 90 new and remodeled residential, commercial and industrial projects, as well as numerous tenant improvement projects throughout the greater Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura County areas. These projects range in scope from single-family residences to large-scale industrial projects, and include senior citizens and assisted living facilities. Schaffel Development Company, Inc. was actively involved in the reconstruction of residential and commercial properties damaged by the 1992 Los Angeles riots and the 1994 Northridge earthquake. Schaffel Development Co., Inc. also has extensive experience in working with the Resolution Trust Corporation, banks, and savings and loans to complete Real Estate Owned projects. Schaffel Development Company, Inc., is fully computerized, using state-of-the-art project management, estimating, accounting, and property management software. This gives the company the ability to closely monitor and control complex or multi-phase projects, as well as changes in the scope of work. The end result is projects completed on time and within budget.
Schaffel Consulting Group was established in 1989. Since then it has been actively involved in assisting attorneys and insurance companies in construction litigation matters. Services provided include:
